Dato' Dr Ronnie Silva
Dato’ Dr Ronnie Silva was born in Penang, Malaysia, which is known as the “PEARL OF THE ORIENT” and went to London, United Kingdom to undertake further studies and has been living in the United Kingdom since 1979.
Dato’’ Dr Ronnie Silva brings a very wide experience of Corporate Operations across the world, and is titled as Dato’ (“SIR” Title) in his birth country of Malaysia.
Dato’ Dr Ronnie Silva was the former President of the Malaysian Golfing Association of the United Kingdom (served 2 years on an election basis by members). Dato’ Dr Ronnie Silva’s position as the President is to meet with VIPs from Malaysia visiting the UK to play golf and to provide the bridge to enable them to set up their businesses. in the United Kingdom.
Dato’ Dr Ronnie Silva was very honoured to have played with the late King of Malaysia on a one-to-one basis, His Royal Highness, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Badlishah who was at that time serving as Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia (King of Malaysia). His Majesty was on an official visit to London to meet with the late Queen Elizabeth of the United Kingdom.
Dato’ Dr Ronnie Silva career developed with KPMG for 26 years working in UK, South Korea, Singapore, Russia, Canada, India, Pakistan, and Malaysia. Before leaving KPMG UK, his position was Director of International Markets of KPMG London, United Kingdom.
Dato’ Dr Ronnie Silva initiated and started the first International desks of ASEAN Desk within KPMG United Kingdom, which was the first ever International Desk ever done in KPMG’s history. Dato’ Dr Ronnie Silva was very helpful to many European countries investing in the ASEAN region and likewise, many ASEAN companies investing in the United Kingdom.
The majority of his time was spent in dealing with Oil companies and Oil Markets. He was involved in the Joint-Venture of SAMSUNG-BP when he was stationed in Seoul, South Korea with KPMG San Tong & Co. for 6 years. Due to his background experience in the oil industry, upon his return to the UK, he was instrumental in assisting Mr Jose Merello-Lardies, Managing Director in setting up BRIDAS Energy of Argentina in London, United Kingdom and also assisting LUKOIL setting up in London, United Kingdom.
Dato Dr Ronnie Silva started SPITFIRE OILS LIMITED to initially market the Organic and Virgin Coconut Oil from self-owned refinery in Fiji. However, due to there were many competitions in the Coconut Oil business from other ASEAN countries, Dato Dr Ronnie Silva entered the Refined Oil business.
Spitfire Oils Limited with UK company number 08904563 was Incorporated on 20 February 2014 and Dato’ Dr Ronnie Silva is currently the Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”). Spitfire Oils Limited has direct mandates with Oil Refineries from Kazakhstan, Qatar, Oman, Azerbaijan and Brazil. Spitfire Oils Limited deals directly with Senior Board Directors and officials of the Refineries.
During Dato’ Dr Ronnie Silva’s time with KPMG, he managed in helping many companies with their major investments such as the purchase of Dorchester Hotel for the Royal Brunei family, setting up the major American investment in the United Kingdom – Vision Express (UK) Limited, assisting in the purchase of British Lotus Car for Proton of Malaysia and was appointed (“conseiller particulier privé chargé de s’occuper des portefeuilleinvestissements propriétaires de 333M GBP du Prince”), Private Advisor, responsible for the administrative management and preservation of a GB£333M proprietary investment portfolio of H.S.H. Immanuel Sovereign Prince. Dato’ Dr Ronnie Silva was simultaneously appointed Chief Executive and Financial Regulatory Compliance Officer to The Reigning Monarch H.S.H. Immanuel the Sovereign Prince’s United Kingdom domiciled Family Office Groupe of Special Purpose Financial Holding Vehicles which were highly and sufficiently capitalised with Tier 1 Regulatory compliant Capital.
Dato’ Dr Ronnie Silva’s professionalism extended across and covered the full suite of advocacy, advisory and financial services, International and Independent Audits, Tax and Fiscal advisory, Mergers and Acquisitions, Securities Instruments Facilitations, Initial Public Offerings and Public Listings, International and Cross-Border Planning and Structuring, Emigration and Immigration, Financial Engineering and Restructuring, Inheritance Tax planning, Trust and Trust Company Services, and Custodial Asset and Investment Management.
Dato Dr Ronnie Silva currently holds professional qualifications – CPA of Canada, Fellow of Association of International Accountants (FAIA), Associate member of Cost and Executive Accountants of Canada (ACEA), Associate member of International Financial Accountants of UK (IFA), Masters of Business Education (MBA) and PhD (Accounting & Finance) from University of Westminster.
